Ronald McDonald House Charities

By Lily Morgan

For all its thirty-five year history, Ronald McDonald House Charities has been supporting, finding and creating programs that improve directly the well being and health of children across the world. This global approach is having a universal impact on family problems that are being faced, while acting locally within communities all over the United States. Since it tries to help people all over the world, it has sub-branches in various countries around the world.

As a non-profit charity organization, the three core programs that affect children positively are Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, Ronal McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald House. A majority of the world’s top rated children’s health facilities have counted on one or all of these core programs. In addition, awards are granted to partner children’s organizations in fifty two regions and countries around the world. Individual country citizens can help this organization ensure injured and seriously ill children along with the families they represent access, benefit from comfort and care that is needed. These ways are making corporate or individual donations, volunteer their time at their local Ronal McDonald Family Room or Ronald McDonald House, sponsor activities and charity events, holding of company fundraisers, and donation of food, toys, amongst further household products.

It was initiated in 1984, ten tears after the initial Ronal McDonald House was inaugurated in Philadelphia. Children’s advocate Ray Kroc, in an effort to aid seriously sick children along with their families, founded this non-profit charity organization. The Ronald McDonald Family Rooms were begun in 1992 and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile was initiated in the year 2000. McDonald’s has seen its choice charity grow in the last thirty five years by being its largest donor. This sponsorship is in many forms on all levels. It employees are involved in all aspects of RMHC. Monetarily, all costs related to the charity’s global office. The local chapters are kept afloat by corporate and individual donations.

Many of the many McDonalds franchise owners participate in RMHC in various ways, such as fundraising and promotional events. Registers at many outlets offer canister collection points, as well as USA Today in store proceeds being donated. Many of the McDonalds operators serve on the local boards of the RMHC, and volunteer with their employees at events in aid of Ronald McDonald House proceedings. The entire community’s support and goodwill is needed by this charity to fund its work globally. RMHC comprises two hundred and eighty one Ronald McDonald Houses, one hundred and twenty five Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and thirty two Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles. There are also over thirty thousand staff and volunteers, as well as a grant program that distributes many millions of dollars.

Also called The House That Love Built, the Ronald McDonald Houses offers a welcoming home for families of kids receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Found near pediatric or neonatal ICU within a hospital, the Ronald McDonald Family Room for families of children receiving treatment. Computer stations and play areas for children are included within these rooms.

Charities For Children

By Mr Bloggy

There are lots of charities around the world. Each of these charities has its’ own cause and focus. It may be disaster survivors, cancer patients, or abused women. Among the most abundant types of charities, though, are charities for children. Children, after all, are helpless in the sense that they are not yet able to think as adults. When deprived of necessities such as food, shelter, parents or education, they are most likely to fall without support. Hence, charities for children were formed.

Charities for children often believe in and emphasize the importance of caring for children, protecting their welfare, and preparing them for their future. Thus, the main goals of these organizations include heightening public awareness about children’s issues and the solutions to their problems. Most charities for children also help other agencies that support the similar cause in raising funds. The foremost mission is to give these deprived children a chance and help them achieve brighter futures.

Each year, leading charities for children around the world do worldwide campaigns for specific causes. Usually it’s for child poverty, as this is often the root cause of most of children’s problems. For instance, in the United Kingdom, ten of the country’s leading children’s charities have joined together in a campaign to end child poverty. These charities are the Child Poverty Action Group, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), Barnardos, Shelter, Save the Children, Family Welfare Association, The Children’s Society, and the National Children’s Bureau. The union called for action to help three million children growing up under the poverty line.

One example of a famous children’s charity in the United States is KIDS. It focuses on disabled children and helps them make the most of their abilities at an early age. Founded more than thirty years ago, KIDS basically concentrates on the inclusion of disabled children and young people in everyday life. It supports the children’s educational, social and emotional development. It supports and encourages the children’s parents as well.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) is a leading children’s charity in the United Kingdom that specializes in child protection and child cruelty prevention. With a history that dates back to 1884, NSPCC aims for a society that does not tolerate any type of child abuse, be it physical, social, emotional or neglect. The charity has 180 teams and projects all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Among its’ regular programs include child protection training and advice, research, information resources and fundraisings.

Get Kids Going is another charity in Great Britain that helps develop disabled children by engaging them in sports. It provides specially built sports wheelchairs so disabled children can do marathons, triathlons athletics, tennis, rugby, mountain skiing and others. It also supports and helps disabled children through training, physiotherapy, and development of sports wheelchairs, among others. No other charity in Great Britain focuses on developing, helping and encouraging children with disabilities through sports in the same way as Get Kids Going does.
